Heather Smith MPT, MTC – Owner

Heather was raised in Cumberland Gap Tennessee and graduated from Powell Valley High School in 1995. She went on to earn an Associate’s of Science Degree from Walter State Community College in 1998, then went on to study environmental and occupational health at East Tennessee State University until moving to Memphis Tennessee to pursue her dreams to be a Physical Therapist. Heather graduated with a Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy from The University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis Tennessee in 2003.

She obtained a position as a lead physical therapist at Claiborne County Hospital and Nursing Home in Harrogate Tennessee for 4 years before moving to Florida in the fall of 2007. While working as a lead therapist, she completed her Manual Therapy Certification from The University of St. Augustine in 2007, which allowed her to improve her manual skills as a therapist and open additional doors for continuing education. This certification is held by a little over 2,500 other physical therapist in the nation and is very helpful to her orthopedic practice as a PT.

Heather has been the owner of Body Owners Physical Therapy since June 2008. She has helped build Body Owners to a very reputable physical therapy practice in Key West Florida with her excitement toward the evolution of physical therapy and individualized approach with treating patients.

Jane A. Tiedeman, MBA, OT

Jane graduated from Eastern Michigan University with her Bachelors Degree in Occupational Therapy in 1970 and received an MBA from Spring Arbor College in 1997.  She has over 30 years experience as a therapist and has worked in public schools, early intervention programs, home health agencies, vocational rehabilitation agencies, independent living centers and therapy clinics.  She specializes in treating children with learning disabilities, sensory integration problems, ADD/ADHD, Autism, Cerebral Palsy, handwriting problems, visual perceptual and visual motor deficits.  Jane also works with adults to restore functioning and remediate limitations by making splints, teaching adaptive methods, fabrication adaptive equipment, teaching new skill development and work simplification strategies. Jane sees patients during the winter months and plays a special role at Body Owners with her emphasis on treating children.


Misty Brady PT, DPT

Misty is a native Mountaineer who has lived in West Virginia for most of her life. She graduated from West Virginia University in 2003 with her Master’s in Physical Therapy. She returned to WVU in 2005 and graduated with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2008. She resided and worked in WV until 2015 when she and her husband decided to sell their 75 acre farm and travel.  

For the last year, Misty has been working as a traveling physical therapist, moving locations every 13-16 weeks. When a full-time position came open in Key West, it was the right time to move to paradise. Misty and her husband have been vacationing in Key West for ~15 years and have always wanted to make the move permanent. In addition to keeping their miniature dachshund, Mickey, happy, Misty and her husband enjoy baseball, football, basketball, and most other major sports as well as just watching the waves roll in.

Emily Miller PTA (Picture coming soon!)

Emily comes to us from Amelia Island Florida where she went to college at Florida State College at Jacksonville. She had been a PTA for 6 years and has worked in a variety of settings. She has been traveling going on 3 years and has worked across 5 states. As well as traveling for her career she enjoys traveling in her off work time with her happy little puppy in her travel trailer. She also plays acoustic mandolin and guitar, enjoys fishing, surfing, riding horses, running and all things Florida.
